Our "I can" statements for the week of 5/28/18:
Math: I can understand fractions: the numerator is a sum of parts of a whole. I can add and subtract fractions as parts of a whole. I can add and subtract fractions with like denominators. I can compare fractions by finding a common denominator, using benchmarks, and drawing models. I can use >, <, or = symbols. I can create fraction equations.
Religion: I can demonstrate proper etiquette and rituals of the Mass. I can list the Beatitudes and explain the meaning of each. I can explain how the Beatitudes are a guide to happiness both in this life and in the life to come.
Reading/English Language Arts: I can spell grade level vocabulary; I can read with accuracy and fluency. I can plan, revise, and edit my writing with help from peers and adults. I can compare and contrast themes from different cultures.
Social Studies: I can explain Ohio's role during the anti-slavery movement and the contributions from Ohio to theUnderground Railroad.
Science: I can understand that every organism in an ecosystem plays an important role. I can identify some effects that would cause an ecosystem to change slowlyover time. I can identify some effects that would cause an ecosystem to change quickly. I can explain how an animal'sbehavior is a result of the ecosystem it lives in. I can explain the difference between biotic and abiotic.
