Our "I can" statements for the week of 10/16/17:
Math: I can multiply a 4-digit by a 1-digit number and two
2-digit numbers by using equations, arrays, and/or area
models to show my work. I can interpret multiplication as
a comparison (5 x 7 and 7 x 5 = 35). I can multiply or
divide to solve word problems.
Religion: I can demonstrate proper etiquette and rituals
of the Mass. I can explain that God's love is revealed
in both the Old and New Testaments. I can discuss the
two parts of Sacred Scripture: Old Testament and New
Testament. I can describe how we grow closer to Jesus
by reading Sacred Scripture.
Reading/English Language Arts: I can spell grade-level
vocabulary; I can read with accuracy and fluency. I can
plan, revise, and edit my writing with help from peers
and adults. I can write with complete sentences, not
fragments nor run-ons.
Social Studies: I can identify various people who lived in
Ohio (prehistoric and historic American Indians, migrating
settlers, immigrants). I can describe how the interactions
people who lived in Ohio have resulted in conflict and
Science: I can analyze different types of images and
recognize the landforms in each.
Homework for the week:
Tuesday: Lesson 2.1 (pages 67 & 68)
Wednesday: Worksheets 2-7 & 2-8
Thursday: Lesson 2.2 (pages 73 & 74)
Monday: Write each spelling word in a complete sentence.
Tuesday: Write the definition of each spelling word.
Thursday: There will be a spelling test over List 4 tomorrow
Monday: Finish page 12 in social studies booklet
Important classroom Information:
-Your child's fall MAP test results will be coming home this week.
