Our "I can" statements for the week of 4/24/17

Science: I can observe fossils and make inferences about

    the past; I can compare fossils (molds, casts, preserved

    plants and animals).

Social Studies: I can understand that Ohio played a key role

     in the Underground Railroad.

Math: I can explain equivalent fractions by using visual

    fraction models, with attention to how the number and

    size of the parts differ even though the two fractions

    themselves are the same size; I can compare fractions

    by finding a common denominator, using benchmarks,

    and drawing models; I can use >, <, or = symbols.

Religion: I can list the Beatitudes and explain the meaning

    of each.

Reading/English Language Arts: I can plan, revise, and

    edit my writing with help from my peers; I can determine

    the theme of a piece of literature

   What's going on in STEM: 

            - SVDP's intermediate grades have formed a partnership with  

              Hattie Larhlam's Constant Companions. Our goal is to help

              people with disabilities perform chores more efficiently.
